Poison centre notification in Greece

Verified against ECHA’s member state overview ·

Greece splits the appointed-body role between the General Chemical State Laboratory (under the tax authority AADE) and the National Poison Information Centre at the P & A Kyriakou children's hospital in Athens. PCN dossiers go through the ECHA Submission portal, in Greek, with no national fee and no confirmation-of-receipt wait.

Detergents carry extra national paperwork in Greece: cleaning products classified as hazardous are additionally registered in the General Chemical State Laboratory's National Chemical Products Registry, and a parallel registration of cleaning products with the Poison Centre flows from the EU Detergents Regulation — both separate from the harmonised PCN.

What to watch for in Greece

  • Greek language required for the dossier content.
  • National extras for detergents/cleaning products: GCSL registry + Poison Centre registration.
  • Two appointed bodies: the GCSL directorate (AADE) and the Poison Information Centre in Athens.

The submission itself is the same in every member state that accepts the ECHA route: a PCN dossier in ECHA’s current format, carrying the mixture’s UFI, full composition, and product category. See how to submit a PCN for the process end to end, or compare all 30 countries in the country overview table.
